How did I get from Tiel, a small city that no one knows, to Amsterdam, the capital city of Holland? Well, I am going to tell you!
After living in Tiel for 17 years it was time for me to move to Breda. I started my studies in Breda and after 3 months of commuting I wanted to enjoy my student life in the city as well, so I got a room. Breda is such a great student city and I had 4 amazing years there with my friends and boyfriend. (I met my boyfriend in Breda where we did the same study) But when we both had to do our graduation internship we moved to Amsterdam. I started working for citizenM, a new & innovative hotel chain, and worked for 9 months at the head-office.

Looking for an apartment in Amsterdam was difficult. So many nice places but also so expensive. I remember if was Easter and we decided to higher our maximum price for the apartment for one last time. And there it was: the perfect little apartment at Waterlooplein. We visited the place and fell in love. As long as it took us to find an apartment, that fast it went with us moving in. Within a week after we saw the place we got our keys and could move all our stuff from Breda to Amsterdam. It took us three days to move and make it our own.
I absolutely love our little apartment. It has the best view ever (okay self named haha) and it is so central that within 10 minutes you are everywhere in Amsterdam. With Gay Parade we sit in the windows with our beer and enjoy the parade from above. Or with New Years' Eve we can see the fireworks at Central Station, Rembrandtplein and Vondelpark, spectacular!
Besides the fact that I love my apartment, I also love living in Amsterdam. The city has its' own special charm and walking around the canals seeing all the crocket houses makes me smile. Basically everything about Amsterdam I like (except the many tourists...) but I have my favourite moments in the city. During spring, fall and in the night Amsterdam has something magical. During spring the flowers start to blossom and the sun starts to shine. In the Fall the leaves are turning in those amazing colours, leaving the city in this yellow, brown & orange oases. Amsterdam by night I would recommend everyone! All the bridges are lighting up as well as the houses along the canals. You can secretly watch people in their houses and wander around the canals with all its magical lights!
